Prague to host Iran movie

Iranian movie ‘Hendi and Hormoz’ is scheduled to screen at the ÍRÁN:CI Film Festival in Prague.

Directed by Abbas Amini, the movie will compete at the feature films section of the event.

'Hendi & Hormoz' takes place on Iran’s Hormuz Island in the Persian Gulf, where hematite deposits in the soil turn the ocean waves blood-red. 16-year-old Hormoz is married to Hendi, three years his junior, after he promises that he can work as a miner.

But the young man finds closed doors instead of a job. Gradually the game of life becomes serious and dangerous for both kids.

Hamed Alipour, Zohreh Eslami and Mohammad Banouj are among the stars of the flick.

The ÍRÁN:CI Film Festival put together some of the best works of Iranian cinema that are immortal. The purpose is to protect the films that help people to realize that they still can dream beyond mortal daily life.

The 8th edition of the ÍRÁN:CI Film Festival is to be held on January 15-26, 2019, in three cities of Prague, Brno and Bratislava.
